Our Highlands family was blessed to have known Lucy Donmoyer. We first met her as an adorable little preschooler who spent her days learning at playing at Highlands Precious Gifts. Lucy lit up every room and made instant friends with everyone who crossed her path. In April 2020, Lucy was diagnosed with High-Risk Neuroblastoma.

As Lucy's family has said, "Lucy was wise beyond her years and taught each of us how to smile through the storm. While her time with us was way too short, we will always remember the love she shared with us, the inspiration and motivation that she gave each of us, and the strength that she had."

One of Lucy's wishes was to continue to bring joy and life to this world. In honoring this wish, Lucy's parents, Jordan and Jessica, selected a few of Lucy's favorite places to plant memorial trees in her honor. Lucy loved Highlands and the amazing staff our preschool.

Lucy's Garden will serve as a place for all us to remember Lucy and her sweet smile, to thank God for each day, and to be reminded to "cover [others] in sunshine!"

Fall is a wonderful time of year when our PYC youth partner with ACS to gather food items to help feed those in need in our community. We have a couple of great Highlands traditions coming up that we'd love your help with!

THIS Sunday, October 29th, our youth will head out to Trick-or-Treat for Canned Goods. They are busy getting their costumes ready, but we need more home to visit! If you are willing and able, please sign up here to invite us to include you on our route.

November is right around the corner and Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. ACS has requested that our youth bring food items for Thanksgiving Baskets earlier this year. This will allow them plenty of time to get the food to families in need before the holiday. The youth will be gathering non-perishable food items in the "Big Barrel" in the Lee FLC Dining Hall beginning this Sunday (Oct 29). If you'd like to purchase or donate funds for perishable items, you can do so through the offering plate (please label "Thanksgiving Baskets") or online here (just choose "Thanksgiving Baskets" in the drop down menu).

If you have any questions, please email David or Laura.
