Dr. David T. Lee
Dr. Dave's ministry at Highlands is one of involvement in the lives of the membership as they worship, play, pray, and serve in the local community and in the world. His favorite moments at Highlands are spent watching children grow, youth experiencing faith, families finding expression of their life in the church, older members sharing the depth of their faith, and as the whole church gathers in worship.
Congratulations to Dr. David (Dr. Dave) Lee "Parish
Pastor of the Year For 2016" by the Academy of Parish Clergy
Dr. Dave has been named “Parish Pastor of the Year” by “The Academy of Parish Clergy.” (APC) As described on their website ( , “The Academy is an international organization of people who are currently serving or have served in a professional role of leadership in spiritual communities of all sizes and in a variety of settings nationally and internationally.
We invite collegiality across faith traditions and among the various styles of ministry. APC members value honest and affirming dialogue, collegiality and continued enhancement of pastoral skills and competency, all directed towards identifying and addressing the spiritual needs and welfare of their communities, both nearby and globally. Our members seek to give and receive support from their colleagues, both in personal gatherings and through meaningful connections made possible by today’s technological world. Each year at its Annual Conference, the Academy recognizes a pastor for demonstrating excellence in parish ministry, by awarding him or her the Parish Pastor of the Year Award. The nominee chosen for this award is invited to attend the Annual Conference, where presentation of the award is made.”
A good friend of HUPC, David Imhoff, former pastor of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and presently interim minister for Ft. Caroline PC, who is actively involved in the Academy and who has followed HUPC with great interest over the years contacted Mary Lou McNaughton who referred him to Mark Morrison who enlisted the input of Tom & Debbie Douget and Bob Abbott, who submitted the requested information. The selection committee of the Academy consider all nominations and unbeknown to him until he received a phone call from Wisconsin, Dr. Dave was selected to be the 2016 Parish Pastor of the Year.
He will receive this honor and award at the annual conference of the APC on Feb. 23 at the Canterbury Retreat Center in Oviedo, Fl. (Very close to UCF) There will be a banquet with the awards presentation and then a worship service at which he has been invited to preach.
